Faith:
Vital for Salvation from SIN

In
fact, the Bible teaches us that "without faith - it is impossible
to please God. For he that comes to God must believe that He is AND that
he rewards THOSE who diligently
SEEK Him" (Hebrews 11:6). Notice there are two parts here: We
BELIEVE God -
AND - We COME
to Him. There is a BIG difference in; Believing IN
God (having a mental awareness of His existence) and BELIEVING God (trusting and obeying His Word). Believing IN
God should lead us to BELIEVE
God. BELIEVING God should lead us to ACT
upon our faith.
THIS is how we COME to God! In
order to be saved from sin - we must believe
in God and Jesus His Son, trust
His promises, turn
from our sins to Him (i.e., repent – Acts
17:30-31), confess
our faith in Him (Romans 10:9-10), and ACT
upon our faith by submitting to baptism for the forgiveness of our
sins (Acts 2:38). Then as Christians, our faith should continue to act in
obedience to God (James 2:14-26). Because the FAITH that SAVES - is the FAITH
that OBEYS!
