ABOUT US WHO ARE WE AND WHAT DO WE BELIEVE? believes the Bible to be the inerrant Word of God. We believe the Bible to be our only rule of faith in religious matters. The Bible is all-sufficient and is infallible. We wear the name Christian, only, and no other. We will not wear any party or sectarian name. We believe one can know how to become a Christian by reading and applying the Bible. "The Bible only makes Christians only and the only Christians." The Tolland County Church of Christ is non-denominational. It is neither Catholic, Jewish nor Protestant. It was not founded in "protest" of any institution, and is not the product of "Reformation" or "Restoration." In fact, the church of Christ is anti-denominational because we believe the Lord hates divisions (1 Cor.1:10-13; Ephesians 4:4). The church of our Lord is absolutely necessary (Acts 2:47; 4:12; Ephesians 5:23).The Tolland County Church of Christ believes the Lord’s church is the product of the seed of the kingdom (Genesis 1: 11-12; Luke 8:11ff), grown in the hearts of honest souls. The seed of the kingdom is the Word of God. As God’s everlasting Word, the Bible teaches that salvation is only in Jesus Christ (Acts 4:12; 2 Timothy 1:10). The Word of God only produces one product. As surely as the gospel only is preached, Christ’s church will only be produced. As surely as there is only one head, there is only one body and that one body is only the church of the New Testament – the church of Christ (Ephesians 1:22; 4:4;Romans16:16). Therefore, the church of Christ is non-denominational in origin, organization and worship. The church of Christ functions according to the New Testament, only. Our continuing mission is that of the Lord’s - "Go into all the world and preach the gospel" (Mark 16: 15-16).The Tolland County Church of Christ has a continuing plea and biblical principle; return to the Bible! We call Bible things by Bible names and do things in Bible ways. In matters of faith, Unity; In matters of opinion, Liberty; In all things Charity. Where the Bible speaks, we speak - Where the Bible is silent, we are silent.(1 Peter 4:11; 1 Corinthians 4:6); Let us forever remain in the "Old Paths."
"Thus says the Lord, Stand in the ways and see, And ask for the old paths, where the good way is, And walk in it; Then you will find rest for your souls..." Jeremiah 6:16 .For more information please call (860) 872-3714.
